Link Building is the No 1 Factor to Higher Rankings

Your website is your online shop. The window for people all over the world to look in on your business. You need internet traffic or people in your 'shop' to make a sale online. The more people visit your website the more exposure you will get ans the more sales you will make. Your business will get more leads automatically just from people doing a search on Google and other search engines. Link building gives you higher rankings that in turn will give you more internet traffic and more sales.

A link from another website to your website is like a vote of confidence in your website. The more links you have to your website the more popular your website will look to search engines. More links will give your website higher authority and force the search engines to take not and rank your website higher. The same can be said about the quality of the links.

Links to your website alone is not good enough to rank well in search engines. There are 2 types of search engine optimization. There is on page optimization and off page optimization. On page optimization are the things that you do on your website that influence how search engines see your business. Off page optimization are the external things that are not on your website that influence your search engine rankings.

On page optimization are things like your title tags, keywords tags, description tag and website content. This can easily be changed if needed.

Off page optimization are the links from other websites that link to your website.

On page SEO: The first thing you should decide is what keyword you want to rank for in search engines. Each web page on your website should be optimized for one or two keywords or key phrase. This is not always easy to do, but try to narrow it down to only a couple of keywords.

Next you need to make sure that your keyword is present in your title, keywords, description tags and domain name if possible. In your content of your page you must also have your keyword present. Your keyword must be the word that appears the most in the content of the page. We call it keyword density.

The reason you do the on page optimization, is to make sure the search engine sees your website as the most relevant web page for that keyword. A search engine will always try to give the browser the most relative web page to the search query. It is all about relevance.

Another on page factor that plays a large role in ranking, is to have your keyword in your domain name or URL. So if your keyword is 'link building', make sure this keyword is in your domain name, like www.link-building-pro.co.za

Off page SEO: To help the search engine give the browser the most relevant results, the search engine will also look at the off page factors. The most important off page factor is the links pointing to your website. The search engine will also look at the anchor text of the link to the website. Many webmasters don't realize the importance of the anchor text.

The links to your website must have your keyword as anchor text. Anchor text is the words in the link to your website. So when you make a link to a website and your keyword is ‘link building’ then you make sure the actual hyperlink to your website is ‘link building’.
